In the past Indian nitishastras played very important role in the formation and development of the Tibetan didactic poetry. Semantic and genre closeness between Indian nitishastras and Tibetan aphoristic poems opened the way for their acculturation in the land of Snow-Capped Mountains. The Indian genre gradually achieved canonic values for Tibetan literary tradition, which in its turn forwarded these compositional, stylistic, lexical and poetical features to Mongolian literature.
