Between December 3rd and 7th 2005 the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Science H.E. Daniel Vulchev was on official visit to India with delegation. A Programme for Scientific and Technological Coope-ration between Bulgaria and India for 2006 was signed by Mr. Vulchev for the Bulgarian side and by the Minister for Science, Technologies and Ocean Development of India, H.E. Kapil Sibal.

Minister Vulchev met also Indian Minister of Human Resources H. E. Arjun Singh, the Rector of the University of Delhi Prof. Deepak Pental and the Director of the Indian Institute of Technologies Prof. Surendra Prasad.

The high guest from Bulgaria paid also a visit to the “Georgi Rakovski” school in Delhi, named after the great Bulgarian revolutionary from the 19th c. who raised his voice in Europe for India’s independence from British occupation. Ten years ago the Bulgarian historian Prof. Vesselin Traikov wrote a book on “Rakovski and India” which was published in English language in India.
