The author, grown in Kuwait, relates of his great love for Indian romantic films. He remembers the main form of his weekend entertainment in the middle of the 1970-s ­ the afternoon movies on the Kuwait television ­ Indian films of love, music and dances. He enumerates hit films of the greatest Indian film stars, with which he and many friends of his lived in their youth and concludes that “The world’s largest Dream Machine is no longer attracting audiences only in the East, but is heading Westward with a vengeance.”
