Assoc. Prof. Tatyana Evtimova, Ph.D
Assoc. Prof. (Mrs.) Tatyana Evtimova, Ph. D. was born in 1955. She completed her M.A. course in Indian Philology at the “Lomonossov” Moscow State University. In 1983 she was one of the founders of the Indology Department at “St. Kliment Ohridski” Sofia University, where she is still teaching. Ph. D. thesis on “Urdu as a Model of Synthesis between Two Linguistic Types”. Habilitation work named “Syntactic Models of the Urdu Language”. Main scientific interests in the field of translation and sociolinguistics. Published a Textbook in Urdu for students of Indology. Great number of translations of fiction, poetry and scientific literature from Urdu, English and Russian. A member of the European Council of Indologists. Participation in national and international scientific forums on Oriental and Indian studies.
