Indira Gandhi Secondary School provides its foreign-language students the unique opportunity to learn Hindi as a second language as well as to acquire some useful practical knowledge about the cultural traditions of India. The students have established a club called „Pratibha” („inspiration”) whose main activities include issuing a students’ newspaper (Indira Times), organizing after-school workshops on traditional Indian arts (rangoli, tribal art forms) etc. The girls from 10th grade learn how to perform traditional and Bollywood dances and presented them during the celebration of the World Day of Hindi held in Sofia in 2007. Last but not least, the students participated in Hindi poetry recitals and the best of them received awards from the Ambassador of India to Bulgaria.
